150 young professional CPA members turned out to the highest garden in Europe for the launch of our NextGen initiative. The event was held in the SkyGarden at 20 Fenchurch Street, and was kindly sponsored by Canary Wharf Group, DP9 and John Robertson Architects.
Members heard from CPA President David Ainsworth (also Chief Executive of CORE). He emphasised the Association’s commitment to supporting the next generation of industry leaders, they will be pivotal to the future development of the Square Mile and its ever evolving skyline.
Following David, Paula Gonzalez Chair of the CPA NextGen Steering Group (and Associate at John Robertson Architects) took to the stage. She championed the work of the initiative – which aims to grow members’ network of professional contacts and build their knowledge – and encouraged more industry professionals to get involved. Paula welcomed the diverse range of sectors represented on the NextGen steering group and at that evening’s event.
Owing to such great weather and an even better sunset, members stayed long after the official close to enjoy the brilliant panoramic views of London.
This event is the beginning of a series of CPA NextGen focussed educational seminars and evening receptions. The purpose of the initiative is to support staff at CPA member companies who have less than 10 years’ experience in the industry.
